alertie> sale

alertie is an early-blooming herbaceous peony with soft pink, double blooms that gradually fade to white with a light pink blush. the flowers are about 6″ across and have a sweet, classic peony fragrance. it grows 28–32″ tall and blooms in early to mid-spring. hardy in zones 3–8, alertie is a reliable variety with attractive green foliage and is a lovely choice for cut flowers.

alertie is sold as one root with 3-5 eyes.

fall planting instructions: 

1. choose an area with at least 6 hours of sunlight with soil that has good drainage.

2. dig a hole 12-18” deep. mix soil with an all-purpose fertilizer. add the amended and loosened soil back into the hole.

3. place peony roots 2-3” under the soil line with eyes facing upward, and then gently pack the soil over the roots.

4. water well.
